When I sew a pleated skirt or dress for one of my dolls, I never use a pattern. I simply cut a long strip of fabric in the desired length, and I press the pleats as deep as I want until I have the desired width. Designing this pattern for a pleated dress was difficult for me because I had to do the math!
There are 28 deep pleats in this design, and the final width of the skirt is 9 1/2 inches. Do not be afraid of this pattern as I show some nifty tricks to make it easy to sew. Just be careful not to burn your fingers while pressing the pleats! Have fun sewing!!!
